From: Outdoor Shooting Range
The LSSA meeting regarding the outdoor range took place at 19:30 hours Thursday 19th April 2012 within the Balerno and Currie Range, There were only eight people there. Three from Watsonians, two from Masonic, one from Prestonpans, one from EU Alumni and one from Balerno Nobody from Pathhead, Redcraig, Heriot’s or Civil Service. It was decided to progress it to try to sound out costs in the first instance. Ian Thomson (Watsonians) knows of the guy who did the feasibility study for the aborted proposed Commonwealth Games range at Morton Clays near Livingston. He produced detailed plans for that range last year. Someone else was going to try to sound out the EL Council about planning permission. These folk are going to report at the AGM in May where hopefully there will be a wider audience to give their support and opinions Funding issues are at the forefront. If you want to keep up to date, contact can be made with Carl Broughton LSSA Secretary. <secretary@lssa.org.uk>

Hi All We now have an opportunity of realising grants/fuds towards running the club from various sources, for various projects, for each grant applied for we will have to submit a business plan. The best way forward for this would be to have a'Grants/Funds Committee and therefor would like to see who would be prepared to devote an hour or so a week to putting something together working as a team to try and obtain some of those grants/funds that may be available. Can anyone, who must be a fully paid up senior member of the club. (That is paid all annual subs due to the club) want to put their name forward please reply to this Regards Chair

The LSSA executive will be holding a meeting next Thursday (19th) at the Balerno & Currie range to discuss an opportunity to establish an outdoor range. Each affiliated club is invited to send along a representative to find out more and so that we can gauge the level of interest. The meeting will start at 8pm. I hope your club will be able to send someone. Kind regards Carl Broughton
